This is a small utility that allows one to export and/or delete all the short messages in the Inbox and Sent folders of one's Series 60 phone (N-Gage, N-Gage QD, Nokia 3650, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6630, Nokia 6680, Nokia 7610, …). The tool was hacked together in a rather hurried manner, so use at your own risk, and please let me know if you come across any problems with it—I haven't.
When the program is launched, it makes a list of all the SMS messages in Inbox and Sent folders, and then lets the user to either have those messages stored as text into a file called e:\sms-messages-date.utf8.txt (drive C: is used instead of E: if there is no volume in E:), or to have them deleted. When both exporting and deleting, it's best to first export, then (without exiting the application) check that the contents of the created text file look okay, and only then proceed with deletion. (Do not try to delete or export after having deleted the messages, not without restarting the application.)
Below you'll find a SIS file and a tarball. The SIS file contains a binary distribution of the software, ready for installation onto a compatible phone. The binaries have been compiled with a Series 60 v2.1 SDK, but are intended to run on any Series 60 1st or 2nd edition phone. The tarball contains full source code for the application, including the usual Symbian project files.
